Matthew Perry Will ‘End’ Up On Showtime
Former ‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry will star in and co-write a dark comedy ‘called The End of Steve’ with Peter Tolan for Showtime.According to reports:
Perry will be co-writing and executive producing the pilot with Peter Tolan, whose credits include “Rescue Me” and “The Larry Sanders Show.”
Set up through Sony Pictures TV, “The End of Steve” would feature Perry as a bitter local TV talk show host in search of a bigger market and redemption of some sort.
Showtime has promised this will showcase a darker side of Perry than viewers may have seen before.

Mario Lopez who was named People Magazine 2008’s Hottest Bachelor appeared on the Today Show.Check out Mario describing his dream girl in this week’s edition of People:
“I like a girl who’s from a modest sort of upbringing, because it’s more relatable.” “I’m a first-generation American. My parents [Elvia and Mario Sr.] emigrated from Mexico and live in the same house I grew up in Chula Vista, Calif. I’d feel weird if the girl was a little too uppity or affluent, because I’m a very down-home kind of guy.”

Weeds Ratings Record For Return
The season premiere of “Weeds” on Monday (June 16) created a record-breaking night for Showtime.It was “Weeds” first airing at 10 p.m.,and the show averaged more than 1.3 million viewers, a 64 percent boost over the show’s third season premiere and well over the 488,000 and 578,000 viewers who tuned in for the first and second season premieres.According to reports:
“Weeds” premiere just short of becoming Showtime’s most watched telecast ever, coming in just behind the 1.4 million viewers who tuned in for last winter’s “Dexter” finale. [Some reports actually have the "Weeds" premiere nipping the "Dexter" finale as Showtime's most watched program in four years.]
The show is pretty decent,let us hope it will stay that way.

Sophina Brown Joins “Numb3rs”
Sophina Brown who recently had her show “Shark” canceled has joined the cast of CBS’ hit show “Numb3rs”.According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Sophina Brown will play the recurring role of Nikki Donat,a former LAPD officer and adrenaline junkie who joins Don’s FBI team as a junior agent essentially filling the gender void left by Diane Farr’s exit.
Initially Brown will be recurring, but it could become a regular role.

The Office Spin-Off Makes First Hire
The details are still blurry about NBC’s “Office” spinoff the producers have signed their first actor “Human Giant” co-creator/star Aziz Ansari. He’s also signed a talent holding deal with NBC sibling Universal Media Studios as part of his deal to join the show’s ensemble.Executive producer Greg Daniels “Office” spinoff tells Variety:
“We met him pretty early on and thought he was very funny,” “We loved his work in ‘Human Giant,’ which I’m a huge fan of, as is [fellow exec producer Mike Schur], and we have a good character for him.”

Will McCormack and Eric Christian Olsen have joined the cast of the next season of ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters”.According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Both will star as business associates to Sarah (Rachel Griffiths), with one branching out as a love interest.
Of course,you will have to watch to see which one will be the lucky guy. However, McCormack has also been cast in an untitled ABC comedy.
The third season of “Brothers & Sisters” is scheduled to premiere September 28, 2008.

Jon Voight will be playing the nemesis to Kiefer Sutherland’s character Jack Bauer on the upcoming season of “24.”According to The Hollywood Reporter:
Voight’s character is the man apparently behind the Season 7 terrorist threat, will be introduced in the two-hour “24″ prequel set to premiere this November and currently shooting in South Africa. Because much of the first half of the “24″ season was already shot last year before the writers strike, Voight’s character may not be featured heavily until the second half of the season.
New faces on this season of “24″ will include Cherry Jones, Colm Feore, Sprague Grayden, Janeane Garofalo, Annie Wersching, Jeffrey Nordling, Rhys Coiro and John Billingsley.

Top Chef Junior, currently in development, will fellow resident chef extraordinaire Jean-Christophe Novelli as he opens a cooking school in Los Angeles.
Top Chef Junior will feature young cooks between thirteen and sixteen years old.
